Dear Lovington Grade School Families,

Welcome back to school for all of our returning students and families and a special welcome to those who are joining us for the first time at Lovington Grade School!      

I hope you all enjoyed a safe and rejuvenating summer and are ready to start the new school year.  I am very excited about this school year and to be working with you for the benefit of your children. 

This year, I would like to maintain our enthusiasm and continue to assist our students with the tools needed to achieve academic success.  In working towards this goal, we are committed to utilize technology to identify areas of strengths and weaknesses.  As a district, we will continue to implement the MAP (Measuring Academic Progress) program to assist teachers with useful tools and information that offers a great deal of data to align our curriculum.  As a teacher, it is a great strategy to locate areas that may have gone unseen in the past or difficult to identify.  Now, with the power of technology, we are able to obtain this information instantly and apply immediately to increase our skills that will ensure our academic success.  Our teachers will be demonstrating this technology by presenting student progress reports during the Parent-Teacher Conferences on November 4 and 5, 2010.

I want to thank parents, teachers, and staff for their continued support and trust.  I am looking forward to our endeavors together and would like to extend an invitation to our Lovington Grade School Open House on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 from 6:00-7:00PM.  We hope to see you there!
